 H. S. Seniors

It's time to make some decisions about your senior photo session. Some
questions you might be asking are:
- Where do I go?
- Will it be different than everyone else?
- How much will it cost?
- What should I wear?
- What should I bring?
- What can I do about braces, glasses, blemishes, hair or makeup?
- Can I include friends, family, or pets?
You'll find the answers below.
-
First Impressions Photography is located 3 miles
North of Mt. Vernon, off Hwy 1 , East on Ellison Rd. (it's easy to
find) Click here for a map. It is a country studio with 5 acres devoted to unique,
outdoor settings. Barns, trees, arbors, flower gardens, a
pond, rustic gates ornamental grasses, and even a real stone well
with a wooden water bucket.
-
I started my photography career, full time, in
1988. I have more than 20 years experience in posing,
lighting, and creating an enjoyable, successful senior portrait
session. My goal is to create a comfortable, fun atmosphere
that will allow us to create those special portraits everyone is
looking for. This is a studio devoted to giving the time you
need for that personal touch. No rushing you in and out.
-
Portrait sessions start at $45 with one outfit, and go up from there. Fees are based
on the number of pictures taken and how many outfits are worn.
I recommend no more than four outfits, which would take approximately 2 hours. A small extra fee
for outdoor pictures enables me to continually improve and expand on
my scenic backgrounds.
-
Clothes. Please bring clothes that you really like
and feel good in. The colors that you REALLY look good in
usually work great. (I have backgrounds to enhance any
colors). Make sure they are looking their best, and bring them
in on hangers to prevent those dreaded wrinkles. I recommend
something for Mom and Dad, and something for you. One could be
somewhat formal, as you would choose, and one could be more casual
as you would like.
-
Please remember to bring the complete accessories
from head to toe as I will probably take some full length pictures.
Jewelry might be needed with each clothing change. Want to be
creative and unique? Bring your hobbies, interests. neat
jackets or hats, cars, motorcycles, etc. Sports pictures are
always a hit. Our imaginations are the only limit.

It is NOT a good idea to have a fresh, or new hair
cut or color just before your session. You might hate it. A little
cover up make up can go a long way in smoothing out a problem
complexion, and can save some touch up fees. Complexion touch up is
very easy to accomplish, but does cost extra. Jewelry
can be a nice accessory for each outfit. Don't forget class rings if
you have them.
 |
GIRLS - Just use your normal daytime make
up. It adds a lot , but a little can go a long way. Prom
dresses are good to bring. |
 |
GUYS - Make sure you are clean shaven in
whatever style you want. If you are getting rid of facial
hair just for the pictures, make sure to do it in enough time to
tan the newly uncovered skin. It can get pretty pale. |
Be very careful with tanning before your photo
session. A sunburn doesn't photograph well, and can peel, both of
which would be very expensive to try to touch up.
If you wear glasses, it would be best if you could borrow a similar
frame, without lenses. Glasses glare or distortion may
not be a problem, but it can mean a touch up fee, if it's needed.
-
I allow friends/siblings and pets to be a small part of your session
if desired. They are taken within the number of photos for the
regular sitting. All pets MUST be kept in a carrier or on
leash. Only housebroken pets will be allowed in the studio.
Larger dogs will be photographed outside only.
PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT! Things can happen, but
if you are running late, it is important to call to see if it will
interfere with the next appointment. In case of bad weather
for an outdoor session, call about rescheduling. If you are sick, call about
rescheduling. I want your pictures to be the best we can both make them.
